Results

The optimization model developed has been applied to two different spatial scales: the city center of Bologna and the entire municipal area. For both case studies, five distinct configurations of the previously mentioned parameters were tested to explore how different priorities and constraints affect the placement of new green areas.

Discussion

One of the most consistently selected areas by the optimization algorithm is the vicinity of Via Milazzo. This location is of particular interest, as it has been identified by architectural experts as one of the most likely to undergo intervention.
